What’s URA
Okayama University URAs are placed directly under the President and are an executive research brain organization that works together with the Executive Director and Vice President for Research. Okayama University URAs are advanced research management personnel who operate and manage the university in terms of research. They are not support personnel who provide research assistance.
Okayama University URAs are research management administrators who represent the university (organization) in terms of research and deal with each of the industry, academia, and government organizations on an “organization-to-organization” basis based on management judgment. In order to fully perform their duties, Okayama University URAs are operated under a “planning-type discretionary work system,” the first of its kind for a URA in Japan, and in a “flat organization” with no hierarchical relationships.
